P90X2 results day has inspired me to write this post.

Over the past three months it’s like the world has stood still while health and fitness has catapulted from a hobby into one of my life’s true passions. My family have been amazing, inspiring and understanding through all my fitness goals and workouts. In January 2012 I decided to start working out at 5am, getting up at 4.30am to free up evenings for my family. This has proven to be a fantastic decision and one I wont be changing anytime soon.

My Family – thank you

What this post is about is a certain way of living, understanding and feeling for living a healthy lifestyle. There are only a select bunch of people who really know what this means which brings me to my second thank you.

P90X UK Facebook Group – thank you

If you are serious about participating in a Beachbody workout and are from the UK or Europe, then get yourself signed up now! There’s too many names to mention but each and every person in this group inspires me on a daily basis. There are some dedicated individuals and more importantly a team ethic of people who truly get the importance of staying healthy and in great shape. We have a good bit of banter and crack at the same time too. I don’t know how I worked out to Beachbody programs for a year without this group. It is of no coincidence that my best results ever have arrived during the period of time I’ve spent with this group, I still can’t believe it’s only been three months or so. Simply inspirational.

Friends – thank you

My friends have been a mixed bag though all of this. Some admire what I’ve been doing, some don’t understand it, some even knock it and take the mick out of me because of it. Society and lifestyles in general have not been brought up to cope well with ‘the minority’. I am very much in the minority as the things that surround me in society don’t adversely affect my health. If you are one of my friends reading this, then I thank you which ever of the above categories you have been in, be it supportive or otherwise.

Positive side effects – thank you

I’ll not post numbers as it is irrelevant, but my blood pressure is vastly reduced and totally healthy down to my fitness regime, losing weight and being sensible nutrition wise. I also used to take anti-reflux tablets called Lazoprazole. I took these tablets for 12 years as my body produced far too much acid, I’ve since learned my body did so to help break down the over excessive fat and carbohydrate contents the food I consumed contained. Around 6 weeks ago, I forgot to take my tablet….I did’t even notice! So I left it another day, and another day. Basically, I don’t need these tablets at all thanks to healthy nutrition and exercise. These are fantastic positive side effects of my healthy workout regime. You start all this down to body looks and overall aesthetic reasons, but there is so much more to it than that. I’ll not bang on about reduced chances of heart disease, diabetes etc. You get the picture.

Those who laughed – thank you

To those who through their own ignorance, laughed and said I couldn’t achieve my goals, I thank you most of all. Ignorance is like a highly charged fuel which kept me pushing play every day. Laughing now are we? All this being said and done, I’ll STILL help these people should they decide to become fit and healthy because I’m not just in this for me. It’s my duty to do my bit in sharing what I know with as many people as possible. Obesity is a global epidemic. In my lifetime how ever little a difference little old me can make to help change the course of the world’s history, I’m damn sure going to give it a go. I encourage everyone I know to do the same if they can.
