Home Gym
So, you're thinking about working out at home? Busy lifestyles and less time available to dedicate to looking after yourself is a major factor in people deciding to work out at home. There are other benefits to performing Home Workouts though. I've listed the benefits of these below.
Benefits of Working Out At Home
More flexibility over workout times
Your home gym doesn't close. You can perform a workout in the morning, afternoon, at night or even accommodate working shift patterns into your regime.
More cost friendly
You can perform a great workout with a pair of dumbbells and your own body weight, so your budget can be as little or as much as you like. A good home gym can cost as little as $200 to setup. You can choose to build as you go, buying equipment every few months or all at once. When offset against a gym membership, you can save a lot of money and workout whenever you like! When you buy your equipment, don't forget that using it is not limited to just yourself, everyone in your household or neighbourhood could benefit if you like. Gym equipment is very robust, a set of weights will probably last your lifetime, while an exercise bike or treadmill could serve you well for a good five years or so. Maintenance is very low in terms of equipment. Remember, the equipment isn't being hammered constantly by hundreds of members every day.
Workout variation
Many workout routines are made up of supersets, giant sets, circuits and other techniques geared towards maximising your time and workout gains. How many gyms have you been to where you could perform supersets? Switching between two excercises without someone else jumping in and using the piece of equipment you need next is a challenge in itself in the gyms I've been too. This brings me onto the next benefit below.
No waiting around
So, you're in the gym and you planned on doing a Chest and Triceps workout huh? Well, give yourself a good eyebrow raise if you're one of those people who can't get near a bench for 20 minutes when you enter the gym. Sound familiar? Are your workouts being compromised by settling for a set of dumbbells above or below the weight of the ones you require for the next exercise, simply because the ones you need are being used? I'll be 100% honest here, I grew sick and tired of being a gym member. I'm not saying the gym environment isn't good, beause this simply wouldn't be true. For me personally, I have a great home gym setup, can workout whenever I'm home, can perform any workout technique I like, and don't have to wait around for any piece of equipment. I can honestly say, I doubt I'll go to the gym again while I have this setup.
