Back to relative normality after yesterdays legs battle! That’s not to say this was easy as it certainly wasn’t. I managed to up 2 weights from the last bulk back workout but I seem to remember absolutely going for it last week too. 32kg dumbbells, add on a very conservative 2kg for the bar and you can call it 80lbs safely. That’s what I used for the force sets of single rows. Boy they hurt, force sets are a killer! I realised that this morning’s workout kicked off week 6 of my Body Beast onslaught, time is swiftly moving on.

I have two sides of my conscience. One side is sensible and allows me to stick to the plan. The other side is a tad impatient and is always looking forward to what’s next. The way I’ve set up this Body Beast plan is to hit the Beast phase with the addition of using the build tempo workouts. Having something new to try is always a plus point when doing long term workout routines. The other side also can’t wait to finish, assess my results and devise a ‘modi-beast’ hybrid for round 2. I’m not entirely sure what that will entail but I’m looking at the Lean Beast schedule and thinking that one might be good for me to try next. I like that the rest days in the Beast phase are consistent. I also like how there’s a day of cardio in between the back and arms workouts. I say ‘modi’ as I intend to maybe tinker with my nutrition based on my results from this round. I’ll also consider adding more abdominal work into the mix. For this round, I always like to give a workout product my all. I’ll do it pretty much as it’s set out in front of me before I make a judgement call and create my own versions.

Onwards and upwards.
