Dumbbell Training – Top Five Dumbbell Exercises That Do a Good Job of Training Your Abs

Posted by Si on June 14, 2010 at 9:46 pm

When I train my abs, I like to choose exercises that stress the abdominal region without directly targeting it. Combine these with direct abs exercises, and you’re on your way to a stronger and leaner physique.

Here are 5 of my favorite indirect abdominal exercises:

Exercise 1: The Bulgarian Split Squats

Stand a foot away from a bench and face away from it. Hold, in each hand, a dumbbell. Stand keeping your feet shoulders distance apart.
Keep your back straight and chest out. Lift one foot and put it on the bench behind you. Squat as low as possible and stand up again. Do all the reps with one side and then change feet.

Exercise 2: The 1 Arm Dumbbell Floor Press

Shake Weight Vs Dumbbell Exercises – Which is Better?

Posted by Si on June 14, 2010 at 7:15 pm

The Shake Weight is a popular fitness product which is promoted as an alternative way to workout your upper body to the regular strength training exercises that can be done with dumbbells. It is shaken rather than lifted. This is supposed to provide you with a more effective workout than weight lifting due to the rapid muscle contractions. Naturally, this claim is difficult to verify so the question is does the Shake Weight work better than regular dumbbell exercises?

Let’s compare the two products and see what we come up with.

3 Dumbbell Exercises For Abs – Do These and Get Strong Abs

Posted by Si on June 14, 2010 at 2:26 pm

While dumbbells are not often used to work the abs, there are at least 3 dumbbell exercises for abs that come to my mind. If you do these (and eat right, of course) you will strengthen and tone your abs and waistline.

Exercise #1 – Weighted hanging leg raises

The hanging leg raise is a difficult exercise in its own right but placing a dumbbell between your crossed feet will make it that much harder. If you’re using a Captain’s chair to do hanging leg raises, place the handle of the dumbbell between your feet and raise yourself to the chair. If you’re using a pull up bar, place the dumbbell on the floor standing on one of the plates and then lift it up with your feet.

Don’t be such a fuckin’ woman, you cant build any muscle on veggie that’s just stupid, even when you take protein shakes they don’t work well without natural protein in the meat.
